🌿 Clinical Supervision for Provisionally Licensed Therapists
Guiding the Next Generation of Counselors in North Carolina
Becoming a therapist is a deeply rewarding journey — but it can also be overwhelming. Having the right supervision experience makes all the difference.
At McLaurin Mental Wellness, I’m honored to provide clinical supervision for Provisionally Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselors (LCMHCAs) in the state of North Carolina who are working toward full licensure.
Whether you’re starting out in an agency, a private practice, or a community setting, supervision with me is designed to help you grow in competence, confidence, and clarity — all while developing your unique voice as a counselor.
🌸 Meet Your Supervisor
I’m LaShawnda McLaurin, LCMHC, Qualified Supervisor, and I’ve been working in the counseling field since 2013.
For the past eight years, I’ve operated my private practice, McLaurin Mental Wellness, where I help women overcome fear, worry, and anxiety so they can live the life they desire and deserve.
Now, as a Qualified Supervisor, I’m excited to extend that same spirit of growth and empowerment to new clinicians entering the field.
My goal is to create a safe and reflective space where you can be open about your experiences, gain clinical insight, and grow into the confident, grounded professional you’re meant to be.

💡 My Supervision Philosophy
I view supervision as a collaborative partnership — a relationship built on trust, respect, and mutual learning.
My supervision approach is developmental, strength-based, and person-centered, integrating reflection, feedback, and clinical skill-building.
I believe in meeting supervisees where they are — honoring their current experience while challenging them to grow in self-awareness and professional judgment. Together, we’ll explore your successes, struggles, and emerging identity as a counselor.
Supervision with me is not just about checking boxes for licensure; it’s about shaping who you are as a clinician — ethically, emotionally, and professionally.
